Take my fountain pen

Maybe i should write more.

Take my fountain pen every evening and write about my feelings and experiences that particular day. Find some sort of regularity and finally some depth and inside as to what is going on with me. To be quite truthful, i’m in the dark as to where i am at the moment. Writing has always helped me to get a clearer view of where i stand in my life. Reflection regarding the person that i am, where i come from and where i’m going to. It makes me see and feel who i am. I do seem to get lost without that reflection.

Of course my day is not always interesting (understatement of the decade!), it’s filled with repetitive actions that constitutes every day life. A lot of handiwork, jobs and car repair at the moment. Also watching football, tv-series and tennis matches on the laptop. It’s all kind of uninspiring and brain deadening. Zombie is a word that springs to mind, actually.

It could serve as a starting point though, set the wheel in motion, as it were.

Today has been a day like that. It was really cold, still i found the courage to, somewhere around midday, start working on the “Slomo”, our campervan. Little things like installing the footbridge (vlondertje) in the bathroom, the lights (smaller left frontside) and the bigger thing was putting the under motor protection.

It demanded a lot of thinking and, more annoyingly, crawling under the car. In the end, i think, i managed to get it properly attached to the chassis. I will have to test it tomorrow. See how it holds up and also if there is any noticeable sound damming improvement. (I put sound damming material on the part) Of course it also should protect de motor from underneath car.

It felt like it was freezing though it was probably not,  but at five, five thirty, i was cold through and through. B. would  soon be coming back from work so i tried to finish as fast as i could to be able to, finally, get back into the warmth of the house and maybe take a bath, which in the end i did but much later.

We had coffee  with “Bretzen” and sat on the couch. Later we put on the fire. Afterwords i went upstairs to take the bath and B. started to prepare a recipe from Marley Spoon. A Serbian one-pan dish with Dutch Vegies and Gelderse rookworst.

It tasted well enough and was actually perfectly suited for the evening and took away some of the inner cold that i had felt since this afternoon.

I had watched tv series in the bath (moving-on ep.2) and after dinner we watched the champions league together. Juventus won 3-0 against Atlético and went through to the quarterfinals (i think). (Aggregate 3-2) and Manchester City won 7-0 against Schalke 04 (10-2). B. fell asleep somewhere during the second halves as is a common occurence in her case. After the matches had finished, I tried to urge her to go to bed upstairs but had no succes in doing so, so i went up alone , as is also customary. Most of the times she comes up, ten or fifteen minutes later, to say goodnight and bring me a cup of infusion of some kind but sofar i haven’t seen her or heard her come up and it has been over half an hour.

Either she is still sleeping on the sofa downstairs or she went to bed in her own room directly this time. Whichever way, having left me ample time to write.
